Oversees engineering aspects of assigned projects, coordinating and tracking technical efforts to ensure that goals and objectives of the projects are accomplished within a prescribed timeframe and funding parameters performing the following duties personally or through engineering resources assigned to the projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participates on Project Teams, providing project engineering leadership under the general supervision of a Project Manager.
- Coordinates with Project Controls on the schedule and budget for appropriate elements of project.
- Monitors contractor staffing per the execution plan, and design team performance.
- Must familiarize with contract requirements enough to recognize deviations from performance expectations.
- Establishes a cost-effective environment, exercising scope discipline, and efficiency in design production.
- Responsible for effective scope definition and change management. Ensure a safe work environment and a safe design, per safety guidelines.
- Participates in development of Project Execution Plans for designated project.
- Ensures that the Project Execution Plan is followed during the life of the project.
- Must be able to interpret technical procedures, mechanical flowsheets, piping specifications and governmental regulations.
KEY COMPENTENCIES:
- Excellent knowledge and experience with material management processes across all accounts and all phases of the project life cycle and of construction execution and interfaces with engineering and procurement.
- Proficient in Excel, Word Processing and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field from four-year college or university. 5-9 years experience in the engineering industry as a Project Engineer.
